My research director role was a mix of product management, marketing management, team lead, and data/market/finance analyst. I specialized in emerging technologies, which required comfort in the unknown, rapid priority allocation, and early trend and impact spotting.

I managed and grew a number of standalone research services focused on a specific topic, technology, or market segment.

These also included expertise in AI, consumer devices, enterprise platforms, digital transformation, and software integration as enabling technologies and key research areas.

My most recent and longest standing product was in Extended Reality, focusing on both product (hardware, software, services) and applications of that technology (verticals, company integrations, security, user experience, return on investment, competitive analysis).

Being a PM in a lean company means wearing many hats, so I have become capable and comfortable in sales, marketing, research, finance, KPI tracking, stakeholder alignment, and product analytics.

Roadmapping, hiring and upskilling, resourcing, go to market strategy planning, marketing collateral creation, sales outreach and sales team collaboration were all frequent requirements.
